Don’t sit around waiting and wondering if he is going to call. There is nothing more frustrating than waiting for someone you love to make contact and then suddenly you don’t hear from them. If you have a date yet you haven’t heard from him after your date and he said he’d call you, take it to the same place you met him. If he had a good time and said he’d call, he will. If you didn’t, he probably won’t call you and you should take it to heart and go on with life. You are entitled to have a little faith in people.
No contact
If you haven’t heard from him, don’t call him. There is no emergency situation when he needs help or really would be interested in your conversation. Don’t even start thinking of calling him as this may end in your receiving absolutely nothing. You are better off not calling him as this can lead you to all sorts of emotional states you didn’t even know you were in.
What came up
Whatever you do, don’t call him because you suddenly realize one day that he overdated last night. It’s time to forget about him so move on with your life this instant to someone who will really be interested in having a conversation with you and will let you know if he will call to talk. Otherwise, move on.
You wish
Do not wish that he would call you immediately. Thinking about these things at this point may make you seem not so objective as you should be. Rather wait a day or two. Again you are entitled to do this as the time will pass fairly quickly. He would have worn off some of the charm on you by now and probably will not have been in a receptive mood to an intimate relationship.
Change of heart
The way you speak the individual words “no thanks” or “cut it out” could send him running in the opposite direction. He will be madder than a hornet with cut glass razors. In that case it wouldn’t hurt to call the day after if he still cared or not. Hopefully your mother would hide the calling records for your house from the Daddy and just hire a private detective.
Being persistent
Do not just accept his answer that there’s nothing to talk about. It is important for you to talk to him again to let him know that you are not happy with the outcome. He may be one of the lucky ones who still have their mother still living when the Daddy finally dies and leaves the boys the use of her hand. For the most part however, he will either get back with his mother and be married forever, or funk with you and realize that he doesn’t want your affection at this point. Do not lose hope and keep your dignity intact.
Next time
You do not need to call him back if you do not wish to do so. Please be aware that guys are critical creatures when it comes to long term relationships. Unlike women, they really do not want a relationship that will gradually drags out with no visible progress.
Most guys are interested in a relationship that will immediately be at its adolescent stage. But as we approach the four-month mark things can start getting a little more serious. Then sex becomes a priority and things from there on out tend to get stunted for the most part.
If your guy is not calling, you should not be too obsessed with it. But you should remind yourself that it still is something that you should be concerned with. You want to respond to his statements to his behavior. His granted clean intention is no guarantee for something further down the road.
